School Physicals

Before your child heads to school next semester or decides to try out for their favorite sports teams, they will need a physical. A physical outlines the current health status of your child and highlights any conditions a teacher or coach should be aware of. Most public middle and high schools require a sports or school physical that generally lasts for one school year.

General Health Check-up

A physically provides a general health check-up. This includes things such as height, weight, blood pressure check, questions about a patient’s personal and family history and more. This provides the school with an overview of a student’s health. Sports physicals go more in depth by highlighting any past injuries or health risks prior to playing a sport. A sports physical is not a substitute for an annual school physical as both outline more or less statistics. At Westchester Health Center, we can provide your child with both forms of physicals along with any additional testing.
