Pre-Operative Exams

Most surgeons require that their patients get “medical clearance” from their primary care provider before their planned surgery date. Preoperative exams are a set of tests that screen for any condition that may prevent the upcoming surgery.

They can identify numerous conditions such as anemia, infections, respiratory problems and possible heart conditions that need to be addressed to reduce risk during your surgery. The surgeon will not proceed with any planned surgery without knowing their patient has received a clean bill of health.
